Savoury Sandwich Cake

A cake version for the savoury team!




šŸ›’ INGREDIENTS:


  • White sandwich bread (crusts off)

  • 200g cream cheese

  • 4 tbsp mayo

  • @dorsognasmallgoods Champagne Ham (sliced)

  • D'Orsogna Cacciatore Salami (sliced or chopped)

  • Sliced cheese (cheddar, Swiss, provolone — whatever you love)

  • 2 boiled eggs (chopped)

  • Green olives (chopped)

  • Extra cream cheese for topping

  • Optional: cherry tomatoes, rolled ham, olives, herbs



šŸ‘Øā€šŸ³ STEP-BY-STEP:


  1. Cut the crusts off your bread (save them for breadcrumbs!).

  2. Mix cream cheese and mayo until smooth and spreadable.

  3. Layer up your cake: bread → spread → fillings — like ham & cheese, cacciatore & cheese, eggs & olives. Repeat!

  4. Stop when it’s birthday-cake tall.

  5. Trim the sides with a sharp knife to make it neat. (Offcuts = chef’s snack).

  6. Pipe cream cheese on top like frosting.

  7. Decorate with your favourite toppings: ham rolls, herbs, egg slices — go wild.

  8. Chill for one hour before slicing. Or don’t. It’s your party.
