Who needs to go out for dinner when you can make these Bacon Loaded Fries at home?

This plate, your couch, and your favourite movie… that’s the weekend sorted.

🛒 INGREDIENTS:

  • Wrinkly chips

  • 200 g @dorsognasmallgoods Smoked BBQ Streaky Bacon

  • Spring onions

🧀 Cheese sauce:

  • 1 cup cold water

  • 1 tsp sodium citrate

  • ½ cup cream

  • 4 to 5 slices of cheddar

  • 4 to 5 slices of burger cheese

  • 1 tsp cornflour mixed with 1 tbsp warm water

👩‍🍳 STEP BY STEP:

  1. Bake or air fry the bacon until crispy and golden, then chop into pieces.

  2. Cook the wrinkly chips until properly crispy and golden.

  3. Add the sodium citrate to the cold water, pour in the cream, then melt in the cheddar and burger cheese gradually and stir through the cornflour slurry until the sauce turns silky and smooth.

  4. Layer the chips onto a plate, pour over the cheese sauce, then finish with crispy bacon and spring onions.

This easy recipe works so well because the sodium citrate keeps the cheese sauce smooth and creamy, the bacon stays juicy with crispy edges, and the wrinkly chips hold onto all that sauce in every bite. Exactly what you want from properly loaded fries!
