Chorizo Lentil Stew

Fast, hearty, and full of flavour — this one’s a true winter lifesaver.




🛒 INGREDIENTS (serves 4–5):


  • 1 pack @dorsognasmallgoods Streaky Bacon, diced

  • 1 @dorsognasmallgoods Hot Chorizo, chopped

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • ½ red capsicum, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 carrot, diced

  • 1 celery stick, diced

  • 1 potato, diced

  • 1 tin crushed tomatoes

  • 2 tins of lentils (drained)

  • 250ml veggie stock

  • Leftover beef (optional)

  • Salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, chilli flakes

  • Fried egg + parsley (for serving)



👨‍🍳 HOW TO MAKE IT:


  1. Fry bacon and chorizo in a big pot until golden and the oils release.

  2. Add onion, capsicum and garlic — stir until softened.

  3. Add the carrot and celery. Cook for a few minutes.

  4. Season everything with salt, pepper, cumin, paprika and chilli flakes.

  5. Pour in veggie stock, add beef (if using), crushed tomatoes and potato.

  6. Simmer for 10 minutes, then stir in the lentils.

  7. Let it bubble gently until thick and delish.

  8. Serve hot with a fried egg and fresh parsley.
